BOOKR CLASS JOINS UNICEF’S LEARNING CABINET – A GLOBAL MILESTONE FOR GSA ALUMNI

At the Global Startup Awards, we love celebrating the moments when members of our community make waves on the world stage. One of our alumni, BOOKR Class, reached an incredible milestone: they’ve been officially selected for the UNICEF Learning Cabinet of Trusted EdTech Solutions.

That’s not just another award or partnership – it’s a stamp of approval that only a handful of EdTech companies worldwide have ever received. And it places BOOKR Class on the radar of education leaders, policymakers, and donors around the globe.

RAISING THE BAR IN EDTECH

BOOKR Class started with a simple but powerful idea: make reading fun, interactive, and effective through a digital library designed for children. Fast-forward to today, and their solution is already being used in over 70 countries. Now, with UNICEF’s endorsement, they’re stepping into a whole new league of influence.

The UNICEF Learning Cabinet is not an open-door list – fewer than 5% of applicants make it in. Each tool is judged against the EdTech for Good Framework, which looks at: safety first, impact on learning, designed for children, ready to reach All, leave no one behind.

BOOKR Class not only passed but earned the highest possible evidence rating (3/3), proving their method works and can be scaled. That’s rare in EdTech, where many tools promise impact but lack the data to back it up.

WHY THIS MATTERS – BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

The recognition goes far beyond BOOKR Class itself. For startups everywhere, it’s a signal - proof beats promise. BOOKR Class earned the highest possible evidence rating, showing measurable results that open doors to global partnerships. Their ability to scale in low-resource contexts proves that impact drives growth. And when UNICEF puts its trust in you, that credibility is priceless. None of this would be possible without the combined effort of educators, developers, and researchers – a reminder that team spirit pays off.

This recognition also comes at a critical time. Today, 7 out of 10 children in low- and middle-income countries cannot read and understand a simple text. Governments face a flood of digital tools, many without real evidence. The Learning Cabinet was designed to cut through that noise, spotlighting solutions that are safe, effective, and ready to scale.

For us at GSA, BOOKR Class’s journey from bold idea to global recognition shows what our community is all about: innovation that doesn’t just disrupt, but changes lives. And that’s the kind of story we’ll never get tired of telling.
