PRESS RELEASE: UNIFICATION OF BRANDS AS PART OF GLOBAL BRAND STRATEGY

In a strategic move to reflect the true scale and unity of our global community, the Global Startup Awards (GSA) is consolidating its regional brand accounts across all digital platforms.

This means that long-standing regional channels such as the Nordic Startup Awards, South Europe Startup Awards, Central European Startup Awards, ASEAN Startup Awards, SAARC Startup Awards, Euro-Asia Startup Awards, Middle East Startup Awards, and several regional African accounts such as the Central Africa Startup Awards, Northern Africa Startup Awards, Southern Africa Startup Awards, Eastern Africa Startup Awards, and the Western Africa Startup Awards will now be integrated under the main Global Startup Awards brand.

This decision follows the successful expansion of the Global Startup Awards into new regions in 2024, further reinforcing our commitment to building a truly interconnected and representative global network of entrepreneurs, ecosystem builders, and innovation stakeholders.

A Step Toward a More Unified Identity

This consolidation is part of a broader rebranding strategy aimed at grouping our communication efforts by continent in the future. As such, it’s important to note that the Global Startup Awards - Africa brand will remain unchanged, as it already reflects a continental approach that aligns with our future direction.

What Does This Mean for THE COMPETITION FRAMEWORK?

This unification of communication channels will not affect the competition framework.

We will continue to run our competitions regionally, ensuring each national and regional startup ecosystem gets the tailored recognition and focus it deserves.

The only change is where and how you will hear from us:

  • For the African regional competitions, updates will come from the Global Startup Awards - Africa accounts.

  • For all other regional competitions, competition progress, highlights, and community updates will be shared from the main Global Startup Awards accounts.

By consolidating our communication, we aim to provide greater visibility for regional winners and finalists, celebrate the power of local ecosystems on a global stage, and streamline engagement across our worldwide network.
